Liability

Limitation of liability

Safe Marine Shipping Company liability is governed by international conventions and applicable local law.

Freight liability

Liability for loss or damage to cargo is limited to the amounts specified in the applicable international convention (e.g., Hague-Visby Rules for ocean, Montreal Convention for air). Additional cargo insurance is strongly recommended.

Consequential damages

Safe Marine Shipping Company shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages including lost profits, business interruption, or loss of data — regardless of the cause of action.

Force majeure
